Galactica Electronica
Next is now, world music as the single most potent force in the culture of fusion ... World music-makers are like shamans, carrying us on magic carpets of riffs and melodies through states of consciousness that spin us out of time to lands not yet invented but glimpsed on the aural horizon ... And so we see that music brings us, in the jumping of our cells, from what is past to what is trying to become the future. lt expresses and fulfills our need to hear the spirit in the dark.

Various Artists Didgeridoo Trance Dance (Music Mosaic) The slightly odd wind sound of the Australian didgeridoo has to be one of the most unique voices in world music, but can you use it as the basis for a concept album? In a word: yes. By taking the upbeat nature of contemporary trance music and infusing it with a mix of didgeridoo, human voices and electronics, several artists hit the sweet spot groups such have Deep Forest and have helped map out. Gondwana's drum and bass flavored lead track "Gurrupurung," the Axis track "Blue Labyrinth" and Lost at Last's track "Awowedas" stand as perfect examples of this. Overall, the album presents a nice variety of contemporary tones even stretching into the ambient groove feel being made famous by Thievery Corporation evidenced in Didjworks "Factory Farm."
Didgeridoo Trance Dance reviewed by Ben Ohmart - Music Dish
The title explains itself. This is trance dance music involving the good ol' cultural instrument, the didgeridoo, wielded electronically or against a wealth of percussion, mouthbow, guitars, vocals, Tapan drum or other various worldly sounds you meet along the way. 51 more minutes from Music Mosaic, 'the pulse of global harmony,' via a variety of bands and artists who are put on this cd because of their intensity and seriousness at blasting away preconceived notions that world music is not relevant to the western world. Ganga Giri will tell you with 7 and a half minutes of 'Anyway I Tell Ya' that it's all in the programming, baby.
Whether or not the didgeridoo is another sound on the synth or not (if it sounds This credible, who cares if it's not 'real'), it is the one croaking constant within this world of lengthy, space-age tracks. Powerfully moving stuff (and I mean for the joints, not the heart) here. I don't know if every artist has a full cd out or not, but the stuff here is a grand opening chapter to every book of beat within. Consider... And then hunt down the cd. It's the best way of hearing the ancient past through the best of techno technology.

Didgeridoo Trance Dance 2 reviewed by Music Design
It would be difficult to find an instrument more versatile than the didgeridoo. Need proof? Check out this adrenaline-pumping mix compiled by the folks at Music Mosaic, on which you will hear the didg in the background, foreground, as a rhythm instrument and even mimicking vocoder-processed vocals. Back to the adrenaline-pumping aspect of the album, the clubby beats here will definitely keep you on your toes, with plenty of energy from beginning to end.
Take, for example, "BigBamBoo" from Yomano… the song is a veritable kaleidoscope of pulsating beats, surreal electro effects and didgeridoo that ricochets all over the place. Papi Moreno drops the tempo and ups the groove factor with "D.J. Redo, another highlight." A great showcase for the power of the didgeridoo, the album lives up to name by providing one of the most exhilerating drone experiences this side of the outback.

Take some jazz, add some funk, blend well with some didgeridoo. Rest a while; take a sip followed by blending, very carefully, some transient sounds, chill and electronica. Let it stand. Turn up the volume, take in the percussion, taste the tropical north and fuse with some dreamtime. Don't overdo the trippin' but enjoy the sheer energy. Result? 'Didgeridoo Trance Dance 2' perfectly crafted just for you.
