Next is now, world music as the single most potent force in the culture of fusion ... World music-makers are like shamans, carrying us on magic carpets of riffs and melodies through states of consciousness that spin us out of time to lands not yet invented but glimpsed on the aural horizon ... And so we see that music brings us, in the jumping of our cells, from what is past to what is trying to become the future. lt expresses and fulfills our need to hear the spirit in the dark.

Mantra chanting has been a long tradition of religious practice to repeat mystic syllables that have an esoteric meaning in order to attain peace of mind. In contemporary words, mantra chanting is a kind of mystical music therapy through the power of repeating melodious sound vibrations, uplifting us to our higher self.
Our modern life has lost much of the quietness, silence and contemplative environment that was natural in the past. Chanting mantras nowadays can help us relieve tension and stress, it lowers blood pressure, slows down the heart beat rate. It harmonises body, mind and spirit.
Here we offer to you a mantra CD incorporating the ancient magical syllables with modern ambient rhythms, making it easy for our Western minds to grasp and enjoy. You will hear soft vocal chanting arranged in a new age manner with inspiring trancey world beats to soothe and relax, to open the heart and quiet the mind. Om Shanti.
Urban Mantra reviewed by Music Design
The act of chanting mantras has been around for centuries, though the idea of mixing those mantras with smooth, fusion-based grooves is a new and exciting twist. This two disc collection from the compilation masters at Music Mosaic features some of today's top singers like Deva Premal, Prem Joshua, Wah! and Chloe Goodchild doing what they do best - enchanting listeners with their soft urban mantras. The discs are thematically divided into "Vitality" and "Essence", with the "Vitality" disc veering towards rhythmic tracks (mid-tempo and smooth rather than clubby) and the "Essence" disc having a chill-out quotient. The music is quality across the board, with plenty of East meets West chant goodness for fans of contemporary fusion music to savor.
